Well, sunday i took a nice little digger. Was donig a balance point wheelie (yeah i know.... newb "trick" but it was only ride #2 with the new gearing). so i was finally happy i was getting the hang of the new insane amounts of engine braking. Go to set it down, and get on the brakes. Ended up being on some sand, and locked up both tires. By the time i released the brakes, and got back on em it was too late to stop. I leaned the bike over as far as i could, until the footpeg was scraping, and thought maybe i could just hit the curb at an angle and ride it out. No such luck. Im not sure what happened next but im told i bounced off a cement pole and then head first into a chain link fence.
Other riders estimated about a 70mph impact with the fence. Turned out to be a broken back, broken right hip, concussion, broken/sprained ankle, bruised/fractured ribs and bruised lung....
So it looks like i wont be stunting again for a while.... The 929 faired better than i did. A little JB weld on the front master cylinder and it'll be mint.... no cage on at the time, but luckily all it did was rash up the fly wheel cover.

thanks for the replies guys. The ER had a team of 6 Nurses, 2 Surgeons and an ER doc ready when i arrived in that really noisy van with the the flashing lights that im sure u've all experienced....The docs were too busy to even talk to me, but finally a nurse took 5 seconds to explain what was going on.They said after hearing that it was an impact with a cement pole, and then a approximate 70mph head impact with a fence, unconcious upon arrival/ not breathing, they didnt expect me to be alive when i got there.
If it sounds like im trying to elaborate this ordeal... far from it. Im just extremely greatful to be as good off as i am.
Actually, the first mag i picked up in the hospital (got to spend 2 nights) was i think Super Streebike.... It had an article on 2 of the VO boys. props.
Yesterday i finally got out to look at the bike. I rashed up my newly 400$ powdercoat, and broke the front master cylinder. I think the master can be repaired though. Other than that the bike faired really well. a side cover got rashed, but not even dented.
But yeah, riding is definatly not going to be a thing of the past. I could slip on some water in the shower tomorrow, bash my head on the sink on the way down and die. You just gotta be smart about your actions. I was wearing full gear, (first helmet that ive ever seen the actual foam not only compress more than 50% but actually break in half too) and it was just a set of freak accidents.... i held the wheelie a little too long, came down on some sand which caused the tires to lock up when i braked...... just weird stuff that multiplied the outcome. So yeah, Ill still be stunting...or attempting to.
CMMC was great overall. Biggest complaint: Cathitor (sp?) All i got for a warning was some nurse yankin on that shit :dong: and a "yeah u might wanna take a deep breath" and then stuffed that garden hose up there..... yeah ouch.

Whatd you break Alikat?
Its been 3 weeks now. They said i wouldnt walk for 6 months.... I'm off the crutches now. Still got a huge limp, and everything is sore, but im semi mobile now.
We're definatly not knitting out there, so shit is going to happen. I wouldnt change what happen. Its been a real learning experience. At 17 yrs old, having to learn how to walk (didnt use right leg/hip for 3 weeks, and the trauma basically made my body "forget" how to walk with my right leg). Its extremely frustrating, but it definatly makes me appreciate mobility.
As for stunting..... I am probably done for this year. If i were to land on my hip again, and break it, id have to definatly go under the knife, and to be honest i like titanium on my bikes, not in me. So i will definatly have the regular ole balance point wheelies, and regular 12s on lock for next year... Sucks but thats how things go.
Edit: So i got bored....being broken and all, so i made a picture of the accident. Its a little out of scale.... The bike was about 30ft farther away, and i forgot to put my 350$ pair of oakleys on the ground 50ft away from me. Somehow they got knocked out of my helmet during the whole ordeal...

Ahhh collarbone. Done that one before. That sucked too. Had to wear was was basically a backwards bra to pull my shit into place... That wasnt to much fun either.
If you were wearing your gear you wouldnt have had rash :-p. lol so ya gonna beat me and get back riding first? Think im still probably a few weeks out..... Im going crazy. Its my last "summer" as a kid (senior next year, then off to college) and im getting stir crazy.

yeah i'm getting stir crazy too, i think i'll be riding beginning of August if all the parts get in for the bike in time. yeah i know about the gear thing, the day you promise to behave and not f*ck around shit happens (and i have 5 riding jackets so i have no excuse) oh well after this i will NEVER ride without out it...that was lesson learned #1.
i had no idea how much the collar bone sucked...but at least as a girl i could wear tube tops and dresses and not have to worry about trying to put a t-shirt on until last week.
Don't worry you can still be a kid in college too, just try not to skip class, once you do it gets way too easy and then you never show up (trust me on this one). Some people have mandatory attendance policies (if you miss too many your grade drops) but i never had any classes like that. And you can sure as hell enjoy your summer senior year b4 college. Hell i know 25 year old guys that still act like 19 year old frat boys. Granted THAT isn't a good thing. But you'll have even more fun in college than you do in high school. My senior year i had class 2 days a week so i had 4 day weekends all year.
Just take it easy don't rush back on the bike only to re-injure yourself, rather heal once than twice and then have to wait even longer to ride.
