I quit my job to pursue PRO-STUNT Street Extreme full time over a year and a half ago...
what a crazy expierience it's been.
in the last year ive lost a lot of possessions.
had 90% of my belongins destroyed, promises broken, hopes crushed, and friends gained and lost.
for the most part i honestly dont even talk to the same circle of people.. its weird.
also racked up a few credit cards and spent lots... of money.
BUT...
ive learned soo much.
Im still learning more and more everyday.
Its been amazing.
the Game.. the industry... business..
Sponsorships... riding ability... trust.
when you dont know anything u assume sponsored means rich..
its funny.. posters, videos, sponsors, product, 50,000+ screaming spectator stunt shows...
none of that means rich.. well not monitarily.. it does mean rich in heart.
and yet I get phone calls randomly of friends from years past..
"Hey bro... i saw you on a magazine... you must be RICH.. what you driving now a ferrari?"
HAHAHAHAHA yea RIGHT! im lucky to have a place to sleep!! haha
Ive been alll over this country.. 3x!!! this year!! have been viewed by WELL OVER 1.8 MILLION spectators in the last 3 years combined.. not including print.
If i could only have 1 dollar per person!! haha...
instead I find myself fighting, with cheap promoters wanting everything for free... their sales pitches are always the same.. doing this show for cheap... the publicity is priceless..
HA!
When I say STUNT PIMP what comes to mind?
most would think talented riders..
me...
I think of something different.. people who pimp out talented life risking motorcyclists for little to nothing... with promises of video apperances, and glory... I love this sport!!
success isnt easy.. success means work...
the work is still only just begining.
The easiest part of this sport is the riding...
in the last year, ive become a graphic design artist, web designer, accountant, sales manager, sales rep, promoter, stunt team coordinator, mechanic, character designer, painter, vynl layer, performer, annoucer, agent, photographer, videographer, video editor, Pro judge, and thats just a few i can name off the top of my head...
I love this sport.
Ill never give up
I do my best to represent myself truthfully to myself, to attend to the riding as often as i can and stay true to the CORE. I try to be the most proffessional rider/businessman that i can, and represent my sponsors as best i can.
this sport is crazy though man..
being tugged pulled and twisted in soo many different directions.
everyone wants something different from it, and for it.
everyone is willing to do something different..
it really is soo amazing to watch the intracacies of it all from all the different points of views...
ive seen this sport grow from meetings at bike nights on las vegas city streets when i started in early 1999.
when the most impressive and techincal trick a rider could perform would be a nac nac 4th gear 110mph power wheelie, or a switchback done right...
today the advancement and technicallity of the sport has grown to such a level that.. it truly is awe inspiring..
STYLE... that to me is more impressive than any singular trick.. STYLE
so many top riders... have come... gone.. and passed...
names forgotten that were sooo influential in pushing this sport to another level.
i often wonder that if and when it goes big (Ie: mainstream, Xgames, walking into walmart and seeing darius toys!!) who will go? how will it be designed? who will get the credit...
who will be the tony hawks, who will be the mad mikes and whos gonna be the haydens?
i love this stuff man..
cant wait for the future...

Damn, good post post bro. It's funny how some people have NO IDEA the amount of work and dedication that some riders put into this sport... It's a great great feeling to see a person's hard work pay off, or at least start to give that person a legitimate foundation,...that will hopefully pay off in the future, lol!

good post...... keep on truckin.....
the hardest part is to keep it real..... why we all started in the first place...... ride to make yourself feel good.....and setting and accomplishing goals for yourself....
and there is no better feeling than at the end of the day, bruised , battered, or a day of just straight killin it....than seeing all those smiling faces of your friends or yourself ....thats what its all about.......
unite, and lets do this thang.......

kane that was said like a true pimp!
honestly if you think about all other sports we have somthing that other sports dont have and thats the fourms! communacation between stunters nation wide. how many other sports do you know of that you can talk to almost any of the "big wigs" and get info and advise. stunters have a bond with eachother like no other sport. most stunters like to see other stunters progress and will give tons of advice and help you to progress. i personly dont care if the sport blows up, but i still hope it does, and it would be kick ass if it did BUT i honestly ride for fun and just enjoy every moment of being on my bike.

Well said -
I can remember when I first met you and Warren at Las Polgas about 3yrs ago when your bike was black and the only pink you had was on your Chuck Taylors, and Warren was riding his Erion 929!
That was the first time I've seen anyone do slow wheelies in person- and I thought to myself.. pretty sure once I get a truck, I'm going to do that sh*t. Now I'm giving up some meals here and there just to keep the bike togeather.
It's amazing how much the sport has grown in the past few years. And I know there will be much more to come!

That's right buddy!!!
When you are sitting on that porch with your grandkids telling them about the awesome exciting life you led what are you going to tell them about?
The Money?? Nahh I don't think so. Fuck all that!!!
It's about the good times and the spirit of "This Thing Of Ours"!! You are going to tell them about the places you've been and the people you fuckin rocked on that pink bike of yours!!
People see my films around here and there as well as the MTV show that I directed and think I'm living large. Don't I wish. I make a modest living doing what I do and that's about it for now. Extreme sports films have a "Shelf Life" of about a year and that's it. But the bottom line is you cannot put a price tag on the adventures that I've had around the world.
Hold the line Kane!! You are a great rider who know's the score. Image is a very big part of becoming a "Popular" figure in any sport and you understand that concept. I very much look foreward to doing the Urban Street Bike Warriors Show in Humbolt with you riding in it. When it's a "Urban" show you know that you are going to be treated with the respect you deserve. I take pride in that fact.
I've been around for a min now and have seen MANY people come and go. Stay focused Kane this Sport / lifestyle really needs you!!
I'll see you in a few weeks to make some history.

ok ok... on a more serious note...
if i dont get my kane doll soon.. i'm gonna cry!!
...on a not as serious note... but still serious..
I've seen you grow into this sport kane, I met you when you were just starting to get damn serious about it... as you met me before I even did a decent wheelie... I truly meant it when I said in my few interviews after stuntwars.. that you were the one i look up too... you know i dont always agree with you on certain things... haha.. and you were there to tell me how i was being stupid... guess i should've listened to you on some of the things you warned me about... hahahaaha.... shut it!!
anyways... after doing that show with you in Houston... made me all psyched to keep doing it... and start practicing harder.. and going to any event I could go to.. even if I was just watching... I've gotten better... still haters haten, and fans still admiring... but it got to the point where i was drop dead broke.. and if I didn't get a job aside from it... I was going to make my credit a shit hole and be fixing it for the rest of my life, I really dont want to do that... I'm still recovering from right before I moved to TX from when i got T-boned in my truck, that was my fault from buying a new truck just so i could make it to stuntwars... hahaha... well i'm forced to take a break from traveling... besides the fact that my father doesn't approve of the whole stunt riding thing as a career... I'm going to focus on a few other things for now... until i get a decent income to support myself through it, I'm still going to practice and ride! and do any events in town... but i give it to you hands down... i'm extremely proud of who you are today. And i truly hope that when this sport does come alive... that you'll be one of the ones thats recognized! (hopefully, I'll be the female idol! haha) WAY to make lil boys like the color PINK!!! WOOHOO!!!! :holds up bottle of smirnoff: CHEERS buddy! sorry i couldn't make it to Cali next month in July... I really wanted to go for my bday to hang out with all my old westcoast buddies! I Miss you guys! you too Keeth!!
ok i'm done being serious...
how big is the Kane doll gonna be? :hyper:

Really sick Kane.
It's even weirder talking to all you guys and then seeing you in magazines and on TV, and at stunt shows.
I just love the fact that I know pretty much everyone in the superstreetbike mags and seeing you all in video's. Whenever my friends watch my stunt vids, I always say I know a few of you, and talk to you guys online.
Keep on rockin, cause you deserve it.
Can't wait to meet more of you.
