Ok well im in a pinch.
IM SICK AND TIRED OF DEALING WITH PEOPLE!!
no disrespect twords hispanic people but IF I SEE ONE MORE FUCKIN MEXICAN THAT TELLS ME I NEED TO LEARN SPANISH IM GOING TO SNAP ON THEM. YOUR IN THE STATES NOW LEARN EINGLISH DICKHEAD!
but here is my REAL issue...
i make 8.00 a hour plus commisions witch averages out to about 40k a year not to bad for a highschool drop out. BUT im realy feeling burtn out. :express: i offer the same shit every day! :banghead: i talk to people all day long and sell the same servace all the time. just think to yourself how would you like a job where you explain the same thing over and over again at least 20 times a day. just picture yourself in my shoes once. your selling a phone and you just explained a plan to a customer for the 3rd time and they look at you with a strate face and ask "SO WHAT DOES UNLIMITED MEAN?" :wonder: :wonder: :wonder: :wonder: at that point i want to rip off there head and throw it in there face! :blabla:
anyways i got a job offer yesterday for starting union pay of 18.00 a hour and when i work out of town i get from 20.00-22.00 a hour. i would be travling and re-vamping menards stores...
my question is should i take it?

I know how you feel, I've worked jobs where you have to work with the customers directly and you really start to HATE everyone of them.
That new job sounds pretty live, more than twice the pay and you get to travel? do it.

I'm a highshool dropout too. I do concrete construction, making 21 dollars an hour. But ask yourself whatever you do, "am I gonna like this for a long time?" I feel burnt out all the time. I think it's just from doing a job too long. The Menards thing sounds cool, plus you'd meet a lot of people in different areas. Whatever you do, good luck, and make sure it's something you really want to do, not just cuz the money sounds good right now. Cuz eventually, you'll get used to the raise, and it'll feel like you're making the same you do now.

You're still young and as long as you give 2 weeks notice they can't not rehire you if you need the job back later. Be courtious when you quit.
The new job is a lot more money and new surroundings. I would take it.

thats some good advice ! aslong as you give your two weeks notice and leave on good terms..you've been there for a long time, so ...i assume...they know your a good worker and wouldnt hesitate to hire you back. check out the new job and see how you like it. more money sounds great, but money isnt always everything. gotta make sure your not gonna get bored with this job in time to. ive been doing sheetmetal work for three years now ever since i graduated highschool with the same company. it does get old and borring too so i know whatcha mean ! just look at the pros and cons for each choice you can make, and see which one seems best for your future. good luck

traveling alot sucks, but if it's minimal travel then that would be cool. I used to go out off town for 10 days come back for 4 and repeat, i could only do it for 2 years. but if the kind of insurance and benifits they offer would probably be the deciding factor for me.

do you know how often you will be traveling? and what type of hours will you be working? Is revamping the store a manual labor type of job?
The pay sounds better than what your getting at Sprint. But before you leave, it would be best to figure out the answers to my above questions.
I know what you mean about explaining the same information to different people all over again. I check in on average 20 different people every shift, telling them the same lodging guidelines and rules of our hotel. Also, every room at my hotel has a different phone extension, and we have 125 rooms, so that 125 different extensions. I have them MEMORIZED. So, I hear ya. I deal with people from china, scotland, brazil.. etc.. who can't speak a word of english everyday. I feel your pain, I really do.
The hotel I work at, the majority of my guests are business people who travel. They are away from their lives at home and their family. They get a free hotel room (normally company pays for it) and they get to experience a new city, but a majority of them tell me they hate traveling all the time. Normally, guests stay at my hotel for 2 to 3 months. Companies can be dickheads and only tell them they will be here for 2 weeks, then extend them for another 2 months. Its common. Just make sure you know how long and how often you will be on the road before you accept the job.
It will be a good new experience for you, and if your gunna be traveling alot, chances are you will be staying at an Extended StayAmerica and we are awesome :rotfl: But if your thinking this job could be long term, before you say yes, give a good thought about whether you can be happy when you travel. Being young, 21 as you are, and traveling all the time might be tiring.
Sorry this is long, but just tellin ya my opinion

i think your crazy if you leave sprint. 40k a year to deal with dipshits? come on man. btw how many hours on the new job? how many days out. 200 a week food allowance is nice but how much red tape on that shit? where i work, if we travel they give u $ for food/motels but it's so much red tape that i just pass on it. u need to consider time away, labor, hours, and regular bullshit on the new job. u know what u got going now. do u have ins/retirement with sprint? hell my job is boring as shit plus i work with older guys but i can retire when i'm 46. whatever u do man goodluck.

But that is 40K WITH commission... Commission is not a guarantee every time... I would go with the job that provides a stable pay and you are young enough, no baggage that you can do it. I would go for the other job. Screw Sprint, they passed you up for that promotion anyway!

i am still debating if i want to even leave sprint is setup with a pritty good retirement plan and so on. rite now i have stocks and a lot of other investments with sprint so that also plays a factor in my choise. i dunno but i do know that i get paid to be a postwhore..... if i quit sprint i wouldnt be on line any more...... i would say if you can talk to some ppl that work there already and see how they like it and also see how the company is to work for. if you dont mind the traveling and want something new then take it but make sure you leave sprint on good terms so you can always have that as a fall back option.

o hell yeah.....u better take that shit Shawn. WTF....The biggest risk in life is not taking one! take the new job. If it doesnt go well, w/ ur experience at Spring, u can always come back there. If not to that store, then another...As long as u leave on good terms.
