Im going to turn my wrecked 636 into a stunt bike. What size sprockets do some of you guys use and what size chain to go with it? Heres some pics from the accident for you guys to check out. Nothin too bad.

-1 +10 is a pretty good set up. i know lots of peeps
rollin w/ that gearing. but if you're not a big person
like myself, -1 +7 works pretty pimp as well. hope this helps :cool:

I have -1+3 on a 97 gix6. Works ok, just takes alot of revvin to get it up there from a deadstop.. Im going to work with this right now, trying to decide between a +8 or +10 to go with my -1...

Im not to much worried about top speed at all, but i do still do normal riding on my bike. :eek:

I'm only 5'7 165. So you think the -1 +7 would work best? and what size chain do you use?

Basically i fucked up getting hard on the brake (to stop, not stunt) and hit the balance point and rolled a stoppie 40mph into a 95 cadillac. bailed from the bike before the hit otherwise i woulda been smashed between the gas tank and the trunk of the car. hit the rear window and smashed it in, went over the roof, left my hand print in the roof like a 1/2 inch deep (i didnt see that part but some guys i ride with saw it after i went to the hospital), rolled over the car and about 20 feet along the pavement. i got up and walked away after i got my breath back...until my concussion set in and i went down. damn my head fuckin hurt from that hit. never passed all the way out though.

ouch.. glad your ok.. sick stunt bike now! I wish I had a 636 just cause its fuel injected. mine isn't so its gay. :)
I roll with -1 +6. and i'm 190lbs. 6'3" 525 chain. chains only come in two sizes I think. you have to get the largest one and cut it down. If I was you, I would go -1 up 8 or 10.

with my setup I can still hit about 140 mph. great for slow stuff and highway.

thanks for the info, im not going to worry about speed for this bike. just going to make it for stunting only. i pretty much got my 04 picked out just a matter of waiting a few weeks til i get the money to pay off the 03.

Shit, since Im having such a hard time deciding between the +8 or +10, maybe I'll just go +9(right in the middle)lmao...

Not worried about top speed either. Just worried about the twitchy throttle scenerio was I decide to go up. I know I'll get use to it, figure just turn up the idle and worry about less throttle. And focus more on brake control and body input... :shrug: :confused: :eek:

Man that really sucks!! Glad you're alright though. i know a dude that had -1 +6 on his 636 and that shit was great for stuntin.

i run -1/+12 .....just put the rear on yesterday but i was really surprised how not ridiculous it is. The top speed is cut down a lot, but you can still ride it normal on the streets if you want to. Shit is lots of fun, too. I can blip the clutch in 2nd to bring it up at any speed, I had to rev the shit out of the F3 to get it to come up in 2nd before.

Damn homie... Ya went that big huh? How is it working for ya man? Im thinking of getting a +8,9,or 10... Might be selling my piece, so Im trying to hold out and just work the -1+3 for awhile... But I might keep the bike and get the sporcket and rock it til it blows up.

Yea i said fuck it and got a 55 tooth. I went over 100mph maybe once this year, top speed isn't my thing so I didn't mind gearing it. Some say you don't need the gearing, but I'm not gonna lie about that I suck and need all of help I can get so I say rock whatever you want. All I can say so far, since I haven't had a chance to ride it much yet (fucked up myself good last night on the 50) is that it's a shitload of fun.

I'm running -1, +5 and that shit is perfect for now. BTw that's on a 636.

Sprockets are like tits. They're all pretty good, but everyone has their own preference. What works well for someone else, might not be as good to you.

I've got -1, +8, on my gsxr 600 and that works, all about prefrence, and how much top end speed you want to sacrifice to lift your bike up!

Get a 525 conversion kit, you may have that size already. Anyway i would keep your front sprocket with the stock amount of teeth, and a +14 on the rear, Put all of your gear in the rear. Going down in the front just 1 tooth is bad on your chain guides, and your chain, but most of all it makes your bike more torqy. I have a gsxr 1000 03 model, and first went two down on the front sprocket. it sucked, it seemed really torqy, and it made whining noises, like from the chain stressin out, so i decided to go up 14 in the rear and back to stock 17 front, 525 conversion, and believe it or not it is so much smoother than the 2 down i had before, even though its geared way more, i couldnt believe it. Talk to Phil at www.moto-heaven.com or call him at 484-951-3128 he has the hookup on all your chain and sprocket needs.....
