Where are all of the VINs stamped on a bike from the factory?

On my 600 there is one by the triple tree, thats it...

The reason I ask is because I am being accused of owning a stolen bike. The VIN is stamped on the frame just like my other one, but doesnt match when u run VIN check. Is it really that easy to remove a VIN from a bike and restamp another one? I dont kno jack about this stuff but for future purchasing reference I would like to kno. I looked up frames on ebay and found that most of them are titleless... My assumption was that the VIN was stamped on a salvage title bike or something. Not too uncommon for track bikes to be salvaged or altered for track use.

I understand the liability of posting on a touchy subject online. I just dont kno jack about it. I have met some guys that have trashed their track bikes and bought new frames without VINs and restamped thier VIN on it to have a rideable track bike, but they were completely clean frames... which is what this one looks like. Im trying to protect to look for to help clear my name I will be more than willing to give that info to the investigator on the case. I looked over my 600 for any indication also, the manual refers to the sticker on the frame and the vin on the triple tree as the only 2 on the bike. Both have polished frames and the stickers are gone :Hum:
