So, I recently decided my back was lagging behind the rest of my development. So, in reading my Arnold Encyclopedia, I came upon an interesting beginner routine, and thought I'd try it.

Arnold suggests doing 50 pullups. It doesn't matter how many sets it takes you. Just get 50 done. And stick with just that until you can do 50 in one set. I've done it twice this week, and my back is sore as fuck (the good kind of sore). It's nice to have a goal to shoot for too. Last night I did 10,10,9,8,7,6. It's gonna take a bit of work to get to 50 at once. But I can feel my lats flaring, so it must be good!

Thoughts?

(oh, btw, I'm still doing deadlifts for my lower back)

WOW 50 in one set, that is fucking crazy. Most I can do is about 25 chin up/pull ups and I am fine with that. Only need to do 20 to max out on my PFT. I know the Marine Corps record at boot camp (west coast) was like 64 or somewhere around there. The kid was a rock climber I guess. But damn 50, have fun

The Arnold Schwartsnagger Modern Book of Body Building. The is the Bible for weight training or for anything that deals with shaping your body. Definately a GREAT book, dot only for what and how you are suppose to do things, but diets as well. Stick with it. !!!!

37 is pretty damn good. How much do you weigh? I have the advantage that I'm not a heavy guy. But long arms make it a bitch.
