I could use some help hear. I've never lowered a truck before and the only thing i know is not to cut the springs cuse that would give it a really shitty ride.

actually thats a good idea specially since you use your truck for bike transport. it would make it easier to load.

It will ride a whole lot better the lowering springs, def dont cut them it fucks up the struts and alignment, Im not sure how to hook up bags but i bet any local body shop near you will know how to hook them up, they just replace ur struts and im not real sure what they do with leaf springs... But to answer you question, yes it will be a better ride for sure....

id go with baggin it but if you just want a lower truck you could go with some lowering springs. i want to notch my S-10 and bag it but who knows when that will ever happen. best of luck looks like you got a nice truck to work with, don't see many dakotas that are lowered.

i wouldnt even worry bout body kit right now, bagg that shit and get either 20's or 22's and def get a roll pan, and fill the tail lights put billit tail lights in the roll pan, and they my pimp ass billit wire grills for all dodge pickups. and that shit would be done, and you can do everything but the bags urself... Man watch Trucks on spike tv they always have some pimp ass ideas for trucks like that... they are always talkin bout bolt on parts for trucks like urs, there is so many things you can do to ur truck.

too many people with S10 Xtremes but i'd take one just cuz it's low to start with and easy to load a bike in the back. but that dakota takes it, looks better and you dont see many like that.

yah its pimp but its gonna cost alot to do that to it.. that kit for the dakota is $1100.. then you gotta pay a ridiculous amount to ship it.. then have it installed and painted , and all the other bullshit.. But yah it does look cooler than the extreme. the only good thing about the extreme is you buy it stock and its already pretty much pimped out, and you dont have to fuck with it.. maybe throw some beats in it and some better wheels..

Definately bag it, make sure you do a four-link in the back and if you want to get it real low you can always do a C-notch in the back. I wouldn't mess with a body kit by the time you pay for it and shipping and also pay for all the work that it will need to look decent (fiberglass body kits always look like shit when you get them, they have nothing but little pin holes in them and a bunch of waves), you would have the money you need to bag it and put some decent rims on it. Go for a simple, clean look....

no body kit looks better without them when its lowered (i could go in to detail of other reasons why but it would take forever...........trust me waste of money! (i had a full sized chevy pickup with a californbia rake drop on it..........6 inches down in the front 6 in the rear!)

if u can get them.........buy drop bucket a arms.........and dropped spindles if you really wanna put it in the weeds ........make sure u buy the alignment kits as even the best aligners wont get a dropped truck to come back into alignment without the right parts.......cutting springs changes the ride......changes the load cappacity and throws the front end out of geometry.............now in the read........dont use blocks trust me they suk.......cheap but u get what u pay for......use a shackle kit or if ur goin further use dearched springs and an air bag kit if u wanna retain payload capacity! lastly and most importantly.........there used to be company that sold cheap "shock relocators" dunno if they still are in businness cus they were garbage...............buy a good set of quality drop shocks......bottoming out a shock thats to long is probably more painful than actually bottoming out the truck!

dont bag the front.......unless u buy good shit.......and the bags for the rear that im talkin about are payload carrying bags not the ones these ricers put in there fukkkin kia's...........good mag to get if its still around (i really havent read up on this stuff since i had the truck like 10 years ago)......."Sport Truck" prolly the best mag at that time for daily driver custom trucks..........dont buy mini truckin unless the format has changed completely.....it used to be full of a bunch of guys who spent 100k on a blazer to make it look like a bad cheech and chong movie.....and really wasnt very informative!

I know not to bag the front, I want to get the truck low and level. I'm beff baging the back but what about the frount. Should i do a spring kit or something like that. I deff dont want any of the 2 fast 2 furious bullshit I want the real thing but i dont want to spend 10gs doing it. LOL

i answered that in my first post.........drop bucket arms arm a good way to go they retain the stock spring and ride quality and are usually cheaper than spindles.....but they need an alignment kit..........spindles are more expensive and still retain the tock spring but can be pricey (i dunno if ur truck has lower a arms or a different system so u might have to research that.........fords used to run in i beam system for example........they sold lowering i beam instead of drop bucket a arms ) neither the drop bucket or the spindle usually come in more than a 2 - 2.5 inch drop thats where alot of idiots fuk up and buy lowering springs (or cut their stocks like my dumbass did) but u can combine the 2 in aarms and the 2 inch spidles and get at least 4 inches with stock ride quality (as far as spring rate and what not.........handling will improve just form lower center of gravity)
oh somethin else..........D O N O T remove the bump stops on the frame unless u want new kidney/ truck parts..........if u go low enough where they seem to bottom out buy shorter ones but dont remove the bump stops all together....these are basically urethane stops that keep ur suspension from over traveling and doin damage in extreme situations.......removing them will allow the suspension to over travel into the frame when u r lowered!

if yer goin spindles up front prolly (if they make 3 in spindles for yer truck) 350 for them........shackle and hanger kit for the rear (if u can on yer truck) prolly 100 bucks......drop shocks (decent ones ) prolly 60 a piece..bag kits i dont have a clue used to be around 500..........all this is if u install it
