I have a 03' 636 with 14 up sprocket feels great, just got it on. Now I'm workin on 12 o' clock . when I clutch it up I usually hit the bar to hard or loop the whole thing. when do i need to apply back break. Do I apply it when the bike feels weighless or what. Also I just started so I'm going to try and get pictures and videos on so you guys can help me and critique my riding. Like I'm a real virgin at this so I really need you guys help. thanks alot

i dont have much time but whatever you do, when you are doing slow stunts make sure your rear tire pressure is at about 5 psi e-mail me if you have anymore questions

Lowering down to 5 psi is the dumbest thing you can do. Get back in the shed.

I agree with the dumbest thing you can do. try actually 15-20.

with low presure all he has to do is think about back and forward not side to side

but when its that low:
the rim WILL get damaged
the bead can unseal
the tire can fold, making it even harder
8 pounds is the lowest I would ever go, i think 10-15 is where you wanna be to learn the slowness

 I agree.
I learned the hard way. My valve stem would leak, so when I went low pressure, I would ride my bike until it was completely flat and have to fill it up again. massive tire fold. Disgusting. You rip through tires in no time.

I don't think that anyone should lower the pressure because then you get use to that and you can't ride a wheelie with full pressure to save your life....Learn with full pressure and you will thank me later.

i agree but it will give him more confidence and learn quicker with lower pressure.....but i dont know a whole lot but how to fuck up my bike

It is easier to learn with your tire pressure lower... about 15-20. When I was learning, I learned with full pressure and I wish I hadn't. I mouse trapped and went sideways on my Buell a few times more than I needed to.
I learned to ride a bicycle with training wheels. Then I took them off and rode fine. Saying you won't know how to wheelie with normal pressure is wrong. It's just a learning tool.

when learning the 12 o' clock wheelie, I thought he would already have the normal pressure/normal wheelies down. Then you step up to "advanced wheelies" and adjust the pressure.

sounds like he needs to learn bp wheeli's first. then he can start scrapin 12's. and yes lower air pressure helps. guess i'm gonna get a cap busted now lol

It's great that you guys have your own opinion, but after you all learn 12 riding on your rim and want to try and learn circles, you will pump your tire to full pressure and I bet you wont even be able to ride a 12 o clock wheelie on the street for more then 20 feet.

I do both fast shit and slow. I learned the full pressure beginner riding first of course. Then moved on to fuckin with the pressure. I usually run 20-22 for all my highway/slow stuff. works fine.
thank you professor science. Now please don't shoot me.

I can see both shcools of thought.
Dont do it! With a gun pointed in your face = Fuck off!
Logic and explanation with a gun pointed in your face = Hmmm... well, he MAY be onto something.
I really think we broke some ground, here. Thanks. :cloud9:

haha funny shit.. PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN freeway wheelies, and bp before they decide they want to scrape, that's how you get hurt... learn bp, then start to learn how to slow a wheelie down with brake..then drop some pressure, and turn the idle up once you can get it to like 10 mph.. wa la
CRASH

Run between 20 and 30 depending on what kind of riding were doin and what size tire. more pressure in the 190's than in the 180's but hey trial and error thats what we all learned with! go with what feels best for you :teacher:
Fuck that, start with low pressure and work your way up
thats what i'm doin, i dropped mine down to 10 when learning, now i'm up to 15psi.. not much psi difference, but i notice it.
