i got rid of the whole front end on a 03' 600rr(lights, gauges, fairing bracket, and fairings) and the bike just cranks but wont turn over. do i have to clip the wire harness from the gauges or is it the 02 sensor since its a cali bike?

yep it's that for sure... i have the 1000rr and i removed the whole front too..and had the EXACT problem, you have to put ya tilt sensor back on, but you'll wanna get rid of all the other wireing.. it's a shit job, but thats yur problem.

it is attached to the back of your head light (well it should be around that area)

I removed the whole wire harness and hooked it back up and it started. It is a sh!t load of wires though, so elmo what your saying is just to hook up the tilt sensor which is the black box that says up on it?

it may be in the headlight. my boys bike wouldn't start without the headlight on it

you dont have to hook it up. remove the sensor, and the wire clip it connects to on the harness should have three slots in it. cut a short wire and strip the ends. put each stripped end in the 2 outer slots of the connector. this will bypass the sensor, and the bike will start. thats what i did on my f4i. tape it up good too, so the wire wont come loose.

exactly correct.....my 600RR is streetfightered.....the wires suck, lot of them, I didn't cut or bypass any of them, I just stuffed them into my airbow and everything works fine, could even put fairings back on in 20 minutes and be ralmost back to stock without doing anything but pulling the wires out and connecting all the connectors!!!
