Ive been single for almost a month now, Ive been noticing the dating scene is alot different than it was last time I was single 4 years ago. Girls my age arent girls anymore, they're women now. The ones Ive talked to seem to get disinterested when they find out I live with my parents. Thats kind of understandable, but they live with their parents too so they're not any better than me. Maybe thats a double standard I didnt know about. Whatever.
Ive met quite a few younger girls in the teen to post-teen range, they seem to be the easiest to find. They used to be my favorites.. tight bodies, easy to please, low maintainence. Now they seem annoying, and for some reason I no longer have the patience to bother with them, unless im drunk. You know how that works.
So, society and I have determined that I should be shooting for the ones in their early 20s. Maturity wise they're on par, and they have jobs and cars, which is a must, and they're fun to hang out with... Untill about 2 am when I fall asleep and they're just getting warmed up. I met a few this weekend that seem like quality girls, but I just cant keep up with them partying. I think I need to start drinking.

Plus, in all honesty hearing that a guy/man still lives with his parents after the age of 22 just seems to bring up thoughts of things like "psycho, possible serial killer, socially inept..." and the list could go on....

On long island, its too expensive not to live with your parents. Im 28, and out of everyone I went to school with, only 2 live alone. Ive moved out, then moved back in when I got too broke to ball. I make $20/hour and I cant come close to affording anything nice. $1000 a month could get me a shitty apartment in a shitty town where my car would get broken into every weekend. Fuck that, I'll stay with the rents until I move off LI. Anywhere else (except socal) $1000 would pay the mortgage and taxes on a house.

Okay, I'll give you the cost of living thing...$1000 a month is ridiculous!! I have a 4 unit Brownstone (live in one unit, rent the other 3-all 2 bedrooms) and the mortgage on it is about $2500...GET OFF THE ISLAND MAN!!!

But it is a good idea to get to know somone and make sure you really do like them before sleeping with them...if what you are wanting is a relationship...sometimes you get burned, you just have to get over it, it happens you may like some one more than they like you and maybe the didn't leave becaue they got what they wanted (sex) maybe they just realized there were things about you that weren't what they were looking for in a potential mate. not all guys just want you for sex...yes they WANT sex, but lots of guys want to find someone to be with as well.

Mike-when i first got out here, i was astounded at the number of people who still lived at home with their parents, but i have come to mostly understand this...the whole 1K a month for rent yeah it sucks, at least where i live it buys me a pretty nice apt in a nice area where i don't have to worry about theft. In NE it would buy me a kick ass house. Some guys (like 1 i work with) make more than me, have fewer bills and still live at home...this i kinda find rediculous. i think that maybe there is a double standard, a lot of women (it really seems east coast especially) want a guy already supporting himself and able to take care of her...my opinion of girls out here is they are high maintinence and want to be taken care of. lol but it's somehow ok for them to still be living at home...go figure. As for the mid-20's girls that like to be up all night partying...you'll find some of them will be happy to eventually give up the party scene and not have to go out every night all the time...it gets boring and having a few girls nights out is great, but staying out until 6 am every weekend will get old.

lol you'll find a girl worth dating....i found that if you actually are looking you don't find anyone that you really want to date, once i stopped looking, the hot guy that changes the oil in my jeep and also rides and R1 asked me out, some young senior VP of a real estate thing in manhattan asked me out, my hookup at the bike shops hot brother asked me out, and the ex came back. all in a matter of 1 week. lol right when i was really enjoying the single life too. but i'm glad to be back in a relationship, 9 months was a good enough break to help me sort things out.
