View Full Version : Question About Pregnancy

This a question to all the mothers on the site, expectant mothers, or anyone else that can answer my question.
My best friend, Brittany, 20, is pregnant with twin girls. She is in her 7th month and is due in early december. This is her first pregnancy. She lives in Kentucky and I'm in NY.
Thursday night she was admitted into the hospital. She was admitted at 5 pm. She complained of really bad cramps. Then she started having contractions as if she was delivering, but she wasn't dialating (sp?) at all. (Pre-mature Labor?) The doctors ran a bunch of tests and no infection was found, and the doctors said the twins were ok, but she had to stay overnight in the hospital.
Her step mom called and told me all of this on thursday night. I also was told that on wednesday, Brittany had an ultrasound and one of the twins was up in her rib cage area, and the other had her head down in the cervix, like it was ready to be born.
I talked to Brittany for the first time today (Saturday) and she is now forced into Bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy. She's allowed only to get out of bed to go to the bathroom and to take a shower.
I am going to send her a "care package" early this week, and I'm wondering what types of things you would recommend me to send to her. I'm going to send her a movie or two and things to keep her occupied, but I was wondering of some things I could send her that are pregnancy related. Any ideas? Any words of wisdom? I can't go visit her any time soon (can't afford it) so I am trying to think of ways to help her out right now.
I'm sorry this is long, thank you for your help.

I bet she would enjoy it if you stayed the fuck away from her and concentrated on being less annoying and began practicing the fine art of 'shutting the fuck up'
Random acts of senseless kindness are utterly retch worthy. In fact just reading this i had to saw my ankles off with a broken chain saw.
my wife went through that with Alex. Seems pretty normal now days for that to happen. The wife says some good movies-good books-some food that she is craving at the time. Pornos do not apply at this time for movies....

seriously, the less Miss Annoying has to post then less i will have to post ---
I do not want to always have to chime in with redundant comments about how god damn irritating she is cause it makes me angry and then i have to strike down innocent people with furious anger.
Miss Chievious: Just because you do not respond does not mean i go away. Wanna know why? Cause i'm an :asshole:
AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAH

Wouldn't it be easier to just ignore her posts than try to think up some elaborate response that in reality isn’t so funny and wait for people to call you an asshole? You should take up a hobby, or just get it over with and shoot yourself.... you're comments are a waste of breath and utterly boring.

Well I know when I was pregnant, I was in the hospital in labor for 17 hours but before that I would have given anything to have candy and taco bell.....so maybe send her favorite candy or stuff for manicures, pedicures, oils, fun stuff that will cheer her up and want to make the most out of time while she lays in bed....she can always do her toe nails....if she can reach them. lol

I just saw pictures of her, I don't know the total amount of weight she's gained, but shes ALL stomach. I know its well over 40 pounds and shes tiny to begin with. Shes carrying twins, and I'm going to be a god mother to one of them, I'm so excited. She likes doing nails, thats a good idea, I'll send her a manicure set.

i've already sent kunty things for her baby....i'm so excited....i want the baby to call me auntie em since her mom and everyone else calls me dorothy :goofy:
as for things to send her, i would say send her personal stuff, like movie, lotions, things that would make her feel good while she's stuck in bed until she delivers. you could get her a book or something to keep her from not being bored to death...crossword puzzles...depending on how much time you have and how close you guys are, take time this weekend and make a small scrapbook that's about you guys and your friendship. :twocents:

anything to keep her occupied. Word searches movies, soothing sounds cd, candles to keep her stress free, books to read, things to help her prepare for the twins, etc etc. Just provide her with helpful reading material and entertainment and she should be ok.

thas a good idea, making a scrapbook. my mom is a scrapbooking queen, our dining room is stuffed to the max with stuff, and I have 632343654 pics of us, shes been my best friend since 7 grade. I'll work on that and send it with everything.
I already got her vitamin E lotion like Foxxgirl recommended, and a manicure/nail set thanks to Brie's idea. I got her alot of mad libs (she likes those) and a picture frame. I got paid today so I can finally ship everything/

in her family, its normal to have young mothers. her mom was pregnant with her at 21, her grandma had her mom at 19.
