putting 929 or 954 forks on an F4i... will the f4i axle and wheel fit those forks? or do you need 929/954 axle and wheel?

You need it all off of a 954 or 929. The wheel,brakes, rotors, triple trees ana neck bolt.

If you are running your air ducks and all then go with a 929 front end, you can still run them but a 954 you cant, you may be able to rig up something though
