I want the power but the initial cost is higher, repairs are more expensive, and fuel is $.80 more per gallon. It just seems like a lot of risk. If nothing bad happens, it's about the same cost as a gas engine. If anything happens, you could be out several thousand dollars. A guy here just had to replace the injector pump in his Duramax. It was almost $2,000. That's just a fuel pump.
