ok this is kind of a long story i have been with a girl now for about a month and everything i mean everything is perfect! :eek: honestly i cant say one bad thing about this girl she realy kicks ass! i was talking to her and she got all funny acting for a while i asked her what was wrong and she started to cry and said she didnt want to loose me. mu heart sunk and i felt SO bad. so i asked again what is wrong. she says "promis u wont leave me?" i said 4 shure i just want to make you happy! so next thing i know she looks at me and says she is preagnant with her exes child! my heat dropped and i had no clue what to say? i looked at her and said "dont worry it aint no thing, i got you threw thick and thin!" ok so her ex doesnt whant anything to do with her me or the kid he has no job does drugs and is just a all around looser! i am honestly thinking of taking custady of this child so it grows up in a good atmosfeere (sp) and around good people! plus i like this girl a lot and when i told her i would do anything for her i ment it. she was supprised by me reaction she said i am not like most guys and that she realy cares for me A LOT and i believe her but i just dont know what to do a child is a bit decision!

now the ironic part of this is my father met my mom when she was pregnant with me and he took custody of me when i was born! and i think it is the coolest thing he has ever done and i want to do that for this child!

well sorry it was so long! what do you think you would do? please all advice is appreaciated!

People do this all the time. It's not that rare of a situation. How far along is she? When was her last contact with the ex? Step up to the plate if you are sure, but know these thing so that you can step fully comitted. You got my respect.

thank you both of you! i am worried about the future and what is to come! there is no doubt about it! but i will tell you i feel it is worth it! thick and thin! i just feel i am doing the right thing! and i will be there 110% thanks again everyone who has replyed so far you make me feel like i am doing the right thing! and thats what i needed!

From a female point of view....I think what you're doing is absolutely amazing and I don't think that many guys would be able to do what you want to. Definitely find out everything you can and MAKE SURE that you know everything you need and/or want to know. You don't want any suprises during her pregnancy, or after the baby is born. I think that is the most admirable thing I have ever heard. Just think long and hard about your decisions before you make them. You haven't known the girl that long and don't get yourself stuck before you have time to let the relationship progress.

Also be aware that the biological father still can keep his rights and get them back even if he signs them over. If you do want to be the father that bad don't get you hopes up too far until its all final.
