Years back I think I used Choicetrade.com. Had to use some kind of bank draft to fund the account to start. It was a good online service too.

you can check out www.tdwaterhouse.com and i believe there is a share site based for beginners which explains everything real cleary, id just google it if i was you.
Best way to describe it is this, find out what is going on the in economy and see what different things will be affected i.e. gas prices, oil, textiles things like that. if you see a new company opening, and they look like they have a lot of promise and a strong plan for their future, buy when the stock is cheap, then when it goes up....sell it before it starts going down again. Its really pretty simple, you just gotta know which companies to invest in.

stock shares are purchased through a broker your bank should have at least one person with a series 7 trading licence if not they have a person they can call to place the order just go in and talk with your banker they will be able to give you the number of the brokerage they use you will also have to fill out a few forms so they can draw off of your accounts to make the purchases you request...never buy a stock with money you don't have especially as a beginner, as you get more comfortable you can do margin purchases but that is another lesson for another time.
The cost of the shares of stock plus the brokerage fee (ususally a percentage of the total purchase price) will be deducted from your checking/savings account. There are also many online brokers but I haven't found one that I like as much as just calling up my broker and talking to him. Another advantage is many brokers can give you some information regarding the stocks you want to purchase that is not readily available all in all I find it to be an advantage.
