I might be able to get one of these soon adn wanted to know what to look out for and how correct the internet is about them...
Ive read they are extremely sensitive to heat and cold, require more attention than other dogs, lazy and drool a lot. and dont live that long. Have breathing problems , etc.
How true is all that?

I dont have one but been around them a lot, I wouldn't call them lazy, cause for the most part I have found them to be like a hyper fat kid, run around for about 5-10 minutes then have to rest, then right back at it.

I had one for 11 years. Drool like a muthafu*** but cool as hell. They do need alot of attention. They tend to get ear infection and skinn infection so they need to be kept very clean. Other than that they are very freindly dogs. If I had the time to take of one I would have another.

Not bad.. a couple of things you need to know..
1. they have bad bones so you need to keep them off their feet as much as possible.. they sleep alot for a reason!
2. they need heartworm medication every month for the rest of their life.. i give it to my dog on the summer because heartworm is carried by mosquitos and in the winter here there are none out..
3. they are good dogs but very jealous.
4. my dog bites and attacks other dogs.. she just dont care.
they have alot of pride and protect the owner and the family.

My friend owned one for 15yrs... best little dog ever. She was sick but every time I went over to her house her dog would be at my feet begging for me to pet her and it was so sad because she was so old and could barely get around but she was a loyal dog... I think they are adorable. Get one. Just google english bulldog and you will have more than enough info about the breed to learn and make a decision.
