So today I tested out that story that if you get oil in your brake pads, you can cook it out with a torch.

IT WORKS GREAT!!!!

i pulled some pads off my B bike that had been soaking in fork oil since last winter, so i fired up the oxy-acetylene torch. When you first put the white flame on them. oil starts to bubble out immediately. so much that it starts to drip down the pliars, then after a minute it stops smoking and dries up.

I took it easy for a half hour to seat the pads, but they were already working as good as new pads

Oh and i put one of those qualifiers on the back, not a bad tire. it handled the turns pretty well. my old tire was really holding me back too, i got my right turns back now, and i can finally wheelie in a straight line again.

I just burned it all off. Got the pads red hot one at a time. I think the backing plates are copper, they gave off alot of green flame.
