They put out a ton of waste heat. Most light sources arevery ineffiecient in converting electrical energy to light energy. The waste energy generated is heat. Those things get hot as hell I would guess around 120 degrees F. And I think the smell of cooking skin and cooking lotions would be enough to cover it if you kept the doors shut and used some charcoal filters.

Pull start. You can get an electric start. At that point you have a rectifier and regulator to convert the ac to dc like a motorcycle has.

I just realized that. I'm an idiot, I was thinking there were resistors in there. The larger the capacitor the flatter the wave and diodes just need to be able to handle the watts.

The new 4 strokes are electric only as they would be too hard to pull over at cold temps but the 2 strokes aren't bad until you get up towards 1000cc and it's really cold.

I'm looking to do this cheap. For the power consumption I'm going to have, I should be able to do it for under $10. My gps runs off two AAs for quite a while so it can't be too much power. I'll see if I can find the specs.
