I have a FI cage on my 636. I am getting some kind of rattle during engine breaking. When i take the cage off the sound goes away so i know its causing the noise. It is more than a rattle...it makes my bike sound like a piece of shit. All bolts are tight and have thread sealer on them. Motor mount bolts are tightened to 50 lbs. And all other to specs in directions. It sounds like it is coming from the right engine mount. I tried using rubber washers to cushion it but didnt help. Anyone got any ideas? Oh, if i push down on it hard the noise goes away. Could the provided bolts in the kit be too long? I have run out of ideas. And the cage is not touching any of the fairings, plenty of clearance.

I've had the same problem on my 03 gix and now on my 04 gix. It was scary and very annoying until i found out that it was only the cage. My way to make it stop temporarily is to loosen up the nuts and bolts on that side then get them tight again. Works for a couple of weeks or longer sometimes.

tried that about 20 times, while trying a million toher things to make it stop. didnt really work for me. I think i found where the noise is originating from though. where the downtube enters the extended frame slider it is just a little loose. Not loose enough to jam anything in there though. I tried to overtighten the bolt, but i just eneded up snapping the bolt. I wish i could just weld the thing permanently. thanks for the suggestion.
