Wider Rear Tire:Is it possible to swap a 180/55 with a 190/55 or 190/50?

Tell me guys, i wanna have a wider tire on my 04 gix 600 to have better controls on my wheelies since the larger the contact point the better and for looks too. I was thinking a 190/55 would be perfect but am not sure, how about a 190/50, will it work too. Like i said it's only a tire swap not wheel/rim so am keeping the 180/55-ZR17 rim.

when i bought my 04 750 it had a 190 on it and then i went to the original 180 after and i dont really notice a difference

I'll keep that in mind. At least i know it's possible. Anyway i wanna do it for looks too.

i run a 180 on my 1000rr, came stock with a 190, 180s are cheaper, and i dont notice a difference.

I put a 200/55 on a cbr 900 wheel (intended for 180/55) just because it was free.

alot of glammer riders round here put 190's on their 600's just for the looks. so yes it'll work. i run a 180 and lower the air preasure for long distance wheeli's.
