wel, considering it only comes from teh left side, i would say it sint the cam chain tensioner, but it probably just the springs, and when the oil gets warm, IE the engine, the metal expands and the oil thins out and you can start to hearing the metal on metal contact. if your mechanically inclined, pull the eninge out and pull the cover off and see what it looks like. if you do take anything apart, put it back where you got it cause engines all break in diff.

yea i was thinkin either it needed a valve adjustment or one of the springs was worn out....i have a manual for the bike but it doesnt tell me anything about tourqe specs on the valves.........would i just do it the same way we always do car engines....crank it up and and tighten them a half turn past where they stop ticking???

This is not like on your (old) car, you have to change the valve shims to adjust your valves. If you don´t have special tools to do that you have to remove the cams to change the shims but first you have to figure out the right size. Lot of hard work, nothing for a non motorcycle mechanic! Bring it to your dealer! :twocents:
