im thinking of bending mine into a big U and using that as the whole bar, instead of fastening a pice to the existing U

how you plan on doin that?
My first theory - heat it up with a torch and wrap it half way around a 5 or 6 inch cylindrical object

ti isn't very pliable right, even when heated?

mike if u have a round bar scrape it down sum so there a lil 3-4 inch flat peice, then drill to holes in it....take a peice of Ti bandsaw it to be the shape of the scraped part of ur bar(oval-ish) then drill 2 coresponding holes in the TI, tap it and bolt it on....same idea as the scrape plates on the flat 905 bars

but then instead of having a nice round bar, it would be like having a flat bar thats only 3 inches wide.
i guess that can be my fallback plan

yup, heat is the key, its a pain to work with.
the pavement wears it through fairly quick, its not indestructible
