I am going to repaint the gas tank on the Honda CM and I want to know what I have to do if I am going to use spray paint.

I used krylon fusion.sanded it down, bondoed dents. used sandable primer then painted. I wet sanded inbetween each coat 3 coats of paint and 4 coats clear....I even painted right over the stickers after i sanded it and it looks good.

no. if you're not going for a show finish don't worry about it. if the plastics aren't already rashed and chipped, you can scuff the surface with a red scotch brite pad...get it from a jobber that stocks that shit for automotive refinishing. not expensive. one or two pads will do a whole bike. just scuff enough to dull the surface and knock the shine off, and the paint will stick fine.
