I am pretty new too but you shouldnt be looking at the tach when doing slow shit. I have no clue what i let it out at. I am only -1+3 on my 636 and i am probably around 6500 if i had to guess. Just cover your rear brake and keep giving it a little more each time till you go straight to BP. Once you get it you will be able to do it without even thinking. Again i am pretty new at it too, so someone correct me if i am wrong. Hope this helps its just how i do it. Oh an 2500 is probably too low of an idle. I set mine at 3000 now and started out at 3500. I believe the better you get the lower you can go.
