Scott, if you ever decide to do your own ball joints, and I recomend not to because it is a PITA, Here are some pointers.

#1 Start on Friday night and stop at the point where you get the steering knuckle back on the truck.

#2 Use a cheater bar on every bolt over 3/8"

#3 Rent a tierod end puller, a ball joint press kit, and a pitman arm puller.

#4 Use the pitman arm puller to release the lower ball joint fromt the axle tube. It will sound like a gunshot when it lets loose.

#5 Old u joints with rusted in place clips need to be shifted to one side so the clips can be removed.

#6 Use 2 crowbars to pop the axle out. The seals will want to hold it in place.. Rotate the axle so you can get a spot for the crowbars to get a hold.

$300 vs 900-1300 is a lot of money. Plus lifetime warantee on the parts. And I swapped out the u-joints as well. I heard that you are an idiot if you don't swap them while you are in there, and I agree.

so my bosses kid was hanging out over a friends house with a few other kids 2 years ago. well they were all out swimming or whatever, he decides he was going to take his skateboard down their slide - apparently there was a crack in there nad him doing that made it worse. well the father said don't worry about it. Then last year (a year went by) apparently the lady sent a letter and said she wanted $600 for the slide she replaced. My boss blew it off thinking the mom & dad weren't on the same page. Then this week another letter showed up and demanded the $600 in the next 5 days or the lady was going to take my boss/her kid to court (he's 17 was 15 at the time of incident).


Sounds to me like someone needs some money and is pulling at strings ...

Still sucks when they cut you off mid wheelie no matter what their reason for getting to the front is. Because then the people behind them do the same thing. Gets very aggrevating.

Everytime I ride with the toledo crew I get some jack ass that wants to ride within 18" of me while I am wheeling or trys to cut under my front tire to pass me.
