that's the army get used to it. in case you forgot your ass now belongs to the gov't who in their infinite wisdom knows what is good for you. it's like being a kid again, but worse. just consider yourself grounded until you get out. :)

oh and yeah, basic training and AIT are WAY too easy on people now. i was there 7 1/2 years ago, i didn't see a cell phone or a computer during basic OR AIT. In the 6 months i was there we got 1 over night pass. We lost more passes than we actually got.
