Dream of stunting for a living? There is a possibility of our sport going some what "mainstream" and there may be opportunities for riders to do it for a living. I want to know how you guys feel about it. Do you stunt just for fun, and don't care about any opportunities you may have as a pro rider, or do you ride with the intent to make it some where in the industry? Obviously we all do it because we love it, but some people may want to take it further than that. How do you guys feel? Growing up and playing in bands, obviously I always had that dream of getting a major record contract, but how do you guys feel as stunters? Post up!

2) i dont think that there is that high of a demand for stunters out there.

3) to even be noticed in this game you have to bee one sick mofo!

Well it's pretty crazy that some are doing it already. Honestly I can't even see how they are making it. Traveling, paying for bills they must be doing something right. Jason Britton, Darius damn.

Me I haven't started stunting but I love to ride and mess around. I get N to stunting more than racing but I would like to see the sport as a whole get bigger and get more respect. I think that it will though, but the stunters still have the bad rep because of guys stunting all out on the streets.

yeah you're wheelies are way to garbarge! haha j/p never say never bro. I think anyone can do anything they want as long as they put their mind to it.

Shit for a while I thought I wanted to go like big time get paid to ride, but I think i'd rather race, and make stunt videos. I think if I had some people around who were nasty riders I could make some sick videos I've got a lot of good ideas, and haven't seen many people doing some of the shit i'm thinking up. BUt the only one around here htat is nasty is my boy BJ and he doesn't even have a bike as of two days ago.

I know two guys who do it for a living. First guy is a mess, he cant afford a truck, or trailer to pull his bike around. He cant afford to keep his bike running. He books good shows all the time, then misses them since he doesnt have the necessary equipment.

The second guy did it right. He worked a real job and saved up the money. He got a truck, trailer, extra bike, booth, and a few grand worth of vids and shirts to sell. AND hes good enough that EVERYBODY knows of him. He made a living off it for a few years, but just enough to get by. Hes got a real job now, and only does shows within a 1/2 day drive

Ive thought about it alot. Im nowhere good enough now, but am progressing pretty fast. And from the way things look it looks as though stunting may actually get some attention. I think it would be awesome to get paid to do something i love doing everyday and having fun at the same time.

I have had dreams about doin shows and comps. all that good stuff and i love having "a crowd". The few times that ive been at a spot around here with ppl watching it just felt so good to see people throwin up there arms and clappin or whatever same goes for on the street, reactions from other ppl are priceless.

A Job that involves lots of pumpin adrenaline would be awesome! haha

this might be a step in the right direction...without TV and major sponsors, no one is getting paid.

this is an event where Reps from teh Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour will be specifically watching the sportbike freestyle aspect of the show...if it goes well and they see potential, who knows what could happen.

and even though this particular event is not an open competition, it is still a competition and if successful, will pave the way for EVERYONE who has the skills to have an opportunity to showcase themselves and collect some green.

do your best to spread the word!

teach...have u ever done stuff for clear channel....
word on the street is they promise a lot but do little...
this is not coming from me...just what i have heard...

do u really think there is a 10k payout? they say that alot..but its just for the crowds ears to hear, like there really watching something big....

i do not really like clear channel to be honest...however, i trust ken abbott 110%. the $$ thing is definately there as far as the purse goes, but we all know how large CC is and how many dollars they have to play around with. they could make this 'sport' into a televised sport tommorrow if they really wanted to.

but, we gotta make do with what we have...and right now we have another chance...just get me on TV a few times annually and i will capitalize on that, as will the stunt community. if i have to take it in the ass from CC to do that, then i guess i better stock up on lubrication!

but don't think i'm naive, i pay very close attention to what is going on...

i will find out about the fiddy racing for you as well. i am almost positive that it is a motard type deal: dirt, jumps, concrete...no cirlce track. i also think there are NO limits to any mods which kinda sucks. i'll find out for sure though.

as long as no one shows up with 107/110 kits and the max is the 88cc kit, then any mods just make the ride better, not necessarily faster.

i was thinking of racing myself, nothing like battling it out on the brink of disaster!!!

i LOVE racing, i dont care what i am on!!

Teach you are making an awfully big push for all of this...what's the matter got tired of dealing with kids all day? :D But seriously that is cool, it's nice to see people working hard for the whole community not just themselves. I too think clear channel sucks, they have a huge grip on the whole music community as well, so that is something I have battled with before, but like you said they have so much $$$ they can do anything they want, and right now we have to play by there rules.

I hear a lot of talk about stunt shows/comps, and people saying we need to do it like this or like that, but when it comes down to it, it really depends which direction the sport takes. If a group like CC decides to turn this sport into pure entertainment, like shows NOT comps, then I think the sport will digress a little bit. Like it has been said on stuntlife the crowd loves some of the cheesier stunts like big burnouts, and fast wheelies, but if a circuit for pros to compete evolves I think you will see a lot of fans educating themselves on the sport even if they do not ride themselves, and will appreciate the more technical stunts.

The first guys name is Swayz. Youve probably never heard of him even tho hes been stunting as long as I have, and you probably never will hear of him cuz he doesnt have his shit together. Too bad cuz he has the best marketing skills of any rider I know.

The second guy is Ronnie, you know his deal. He was working at the body piercing place last time i talked to him, and booking lots of shows.
