put about a 4 inch gash in my foot and shattered the first bone as well. dont know what its called the long one that is behind the big toe....i think its the metatracel bone. any one have a real idea of how long this shit will take to heal... doctors tell me min. of 3 months but it only takes like 6 weeks for a bone to heal. i didnt get any pins or screws put in cause they said it didnt need it but 3 months seems kinda long i think just wondering

is that bone like a growth plate or some shit? my boy broke that and he was def out for awhile... doctors just give round about answers though, drink a lot of milk and vitamin c and it might help out

3 months sounds about right. sounds like you broke what's called the '1st metatarsal'(third bone down from the big toe)I broke all metatarsals(1 thru 5) and the cuneiforms(the 3 bones that connect the metatarsals) and the cuboid. Had 5 pins put in and spent 4 days in the hospital. I think 3 months is a long time for your injury but you should be up in 2. I had to wait 3 months just to go back to the hospital and get the pins out then it was another 2 months for that to heal and 3 months of physical therapy(which I recommend if they offer it to you). bottom line...you'll be back on that bike in no time. rest up and watch alot of videos...lol

your foot takes alot of abuse therefore the bones in your foot are usually pretty dense so they do take a little longer to heal

and people usually walk on them before they are supposed to so that will add to the time it takes also
