View Full Version : When to gear?

Did a search, and didnt come up with much, other than ppl saying 'learn idle...then gear'
Well.... at the lot, i set me idle at 3500, 10psi rear tire, and can consistantly ride idle at 10mph give or take a couple mph on stock gears. Everytime i ttry to slow it down more, the revs drop so low that the bike starts to get boggy.
Im still doing regular ole staggered... What is the path of progression? what are some of the easier tricks to work with? Spreaders are my 'unicorn' in a sense...back a couple years ago one ate me for breakfast.
Is it time for gears? Hows +10 sound? -1 +10??? thanks guys

i have no idea about that, i got a kit from thrust company with new sprockets and chain. go down 1 in the front and like 6 or 8 in the back then.

did somone say 120? lol
anyways i say learn geared.....
thats what i did. i personaly think people say to learn stock because its harder to ride idol when you are rockin stock gears. so in the long run it will make you a better rider..... but i said fuck it threw gears on that bitch and started scraping spreaders lol :fiddy:
personaly its all up to you bro. ride a geared bike see what you like better.

Wish i had the opportunity. Only one other group of riders from around here, and from past experiences, they dont seem like they like to share even advice with someone learning the game, like myself.
guess ill just try a +10 and see what happens.
