I'm having trouble with foot on seat no handers on a 99 900RR... The tanks are wide as hell on these bikes and when I get it up and try to lean forward, my right knee hits the tank where it bulges out and won't let me stand up straight or lean forward like I feel that I need to to be able to straighten my left leg more / not have it bent so much and take the weight off my arms... Anyone else have that kinda problem? Is that common with all bikes? Do I just stop there and only lean my upper body forward? I fell like I need to get my knee around the tank but can't manage it. Is it be easier on a slimmer tanked bike?

left foot sideways, left knee should permanently be in contact with the tank. you lean forward as far as it takes to keep the left knee pressed against the tank.

dont put your weight on your right foot, keep it on the left. shift weight from your toe to heel to steer
