Alright guys Ive been told a lot of different shit for this...some say swap front ends...929/954/1000RR...others say thats a waste unless im rollin them 500+ ft already...some ppl suggested getting ohlins internals...others said just put heavier fork oil in to stiffen them up. So I dunno for a newbie to stoppies what should i do? swap? heavy oil? wave rotors?

i kno it comes down to personal preferance but I like when ppl throw in there :twocents: u guys point things out I might not have though of. Im not lookin to go to endo comps but Ide like a little more out of the front end...Im ordering SS lines already.

#1 - get a good front tire with alot of tread left on it

thats all I know from personal experience so far

My front end already has new seal , 20 w fork fluid , with regular oem brake pads and rotors also mezlter m3 tires.

I already got myself scotts dampner and waiting for the mount to come in then I should be all set.

From the big F4i front end thread on stuntlife by Matt Gorka, I came to the conclusion that Im gonna go with some aftermarket springs (100$) and heavier weight oil and see how that does.

Yea im sorry we couldnt do business with your front end Im kno that thing will crush stoppies.

Im not worried about a new tire..I kno mines beat and need a new one probally try out a Pirelli diablo, got one on the rear and love it

Hmm maybe ill try springs if I dont swap the front end.

Biggest thing first is get a GOOD front tire i.e. Pirelli Diablo Corsa or Michellin Pilot power race. Get some steal lines replace your brake fluid and get out. There are people rollin some killer endos on stock f4i front ends. My whole thing is way out your costs. If you can rebuild forks yourself then by all means stay wit the f4i front end. I know some places charge 200-250 for replacing fork seals alone so figure if you want new springs, heavier oil, new seals and everything youre probably looking at 400-500 bux for parts installed. If you cant do forks yourself, buy a better front end and save yourself the hassle, then sell your complete f4i front end.
Also I think it depends on your weight too, If youre a bigger guy I just dont like the looks of coming down hard from a wheelie on the dinky little f4i front end...
Just some food for thought

i use f4i forks w/ racetech guts, took them off a racebike i bought seems alot better than stock, have a pirelli up front grips good. I have a complete 929 front end just never got around to installing it. im only around 150 ft or so so not really worried about it. i try to throw style in since i got no distance lol

i agree with most of this other than the tires . do not run pilot race tires , they are race tires that heat cycle.... bad news . run regular pilot powers , diablo corsa, anything that is a softer compound but not a race tire.

also i tend to drop my pressure down to about 18-20 for endos

new front end wont improve your ability to do stoppies. when i had my f4i i swapped to a 1000rr front mostly cuz i hated the look of the front and the brakes are way better.

I ran pirelli diablos all last season 2+ sets. I loved them till i ran the metzler m1's. Seriously alot better for the price. A little cheaper and HELLA STICKY right from the start. So far wear isnt too bad either.

i just got one of these and it is the shit....

on the hardest setting you can barely turn the bars , and you can rebuild them they sell parts for them so you should never need another damper

still comes out to almost the same as ohlins and all the other top brands when you throw in the mounting kit...I dont see why they dont sell complete kits.

How are the Shindy dampners

MikeM

just an fyi...

if you start now, and practice almost every day. By the end of summer, you *might* be rolling high enough to need a damper.

So go get started and worry about a damper next year.

any thing over 45 50 mile an hour and you will need a damper

any thing over 45 50 mile an hour and you will need a damper

for you, yes, because you bring it up high right from the beginning.

beginners at stoppies spend a few months plowing them before they get height at speed. Remember? I know you must have been a stoppie beginner once, probably in the 70s lol
