i dont know the back round on the bike but pretty boy bought a f4i that was crashed and then brought home on its side cuz there was no tiedowns it smoked for like 3 weeks of hard riding befor it cleaned out

richie it is probably smoking from you laying it on it's side to change the stator cover if there is oil in th eexhaust it can take a while to burn it out and you might have some in the air box so just clean that shit out and enjoy your new bike.....

it is salvage titleoil in your exhaust smells exactly like bad rings but if you have made up your mind then i geuss thats that...

take it on the highway for a few minutes and blast it once or twice before you part it out though it might just stop smoking....

Yeah, 600RR's are notorious for oil filling up the air box when its been on its side...even for 5min or less. My buddies did the same thing. Had to pull the plugs to clear out the cyclinders and take the airbox out and clean everything. Give that a shot and let it clear out. His smoked for a good 6 hours of straight highway riding.

pull it apart and look at the rings...its either rings or a headgasket..either way it sounds like its burning oil...

im confused by your post,what i was saying is that i would have bet money that there would be oil in your air box but you said there wasn't so now i am hoping you just got a bunch of oil in your exhaust and i hope it just burns off on a nice little highway blast....
