turn it in till you feel the resistance and then back off a quarter turn.

i found the easiest way to tighten the locknut is to bring the tensioner to sears and get a crows foot wrench/socket it gets in there the best. i thinkg my gixxer locknut was 18mm i dont know if its the same

just use the stock one. APE will stretch the chain, and then you will need to replace the chain... just my 2c
