I'm brand new to the forum, and could really use some help. I have an 03 GSXR-750. Right now it's set up for drag, but i have a 600 motor i'm putting back together to allow me to stunt. I'm in search of parts though. Crash cage, specs on 12 bar, swingarm, etc. If anyone is in or near the columbia area and could be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

one thing you def need to do is take 1/4 in flat stock and make bars the attatch the top bolt of each rearset to one of the bolts holding the passenger pegs on, that will make the subframe alot stronger. and over fill the oil untill the oil completely covers the sight glass when its straight up and down, not on the kickstand. oh and disable the tip over sensor, its in front of the battery, it has two screws holding it closed, take the screws out, and make sure the ball is in the middle and silicone the ball so it stays in the middle and close it back up .

go to this page, it tells you everything you would ever have to do to a gixxer.

Thanks! Both of these pages are really helpful! Any suggestions on what size sprockets? Also, my boy is looking for a gixxer 600. If anyone's got one in relitively good shape i'd really like to know! We're in Columbia South Carolina, so if anybody's down this way we'd love to ride! We're just starting out, so we could def use the help!

i would over fill an f4i too, i would say at least half a quart but closer to a whole quart. it wont hurt, i had my gixxer overfilled the whole time i had it.

i only had +10 in the back with a stock front. it was plenty of gearing for it and i was still able to ride the streets no problem, i had a 750 tho i dont know how much difference there is between the 6 and 750

I've got a 750, but it's got a worked over motor so i'm pulling it of since i have a 600 motor just sitting there. I guess i'm gonna have to play with a few different setups.

That site does have a ton of stuff! How aggrivating is it to do the handbrake conversion?

get the ho hey dual caliper or of you can weld good weld the two brackets to make your own, dont bother with the splitter. its not a pain in the ass, you need a moose or msr shorty easy pull lever, dont buy the easy box, its garbage, you need a master for the handbrake, and a long brake line, measure the length you need and go to bonicoinc.com, they are the cheapest, i think it might be like 77" but i forget.

I can't weld worth a damn, but i've got a couple of friends that can. So feesibly i could set this bike up for around $500. With all these sites that you guys have given, everything seems to be reallitively cheap. I'm guessing that's cause you gotta replace so much???

well you got the cage, get sick innovations thats $219.00 then i would get freestyle 12 bar thats $125.00 and a 10up sprocket thats like $50.00 and thats it for starters, then you can get the handbrake, depending on if you want radial master or not that can cost as little as $100. if you have a spare caliper and if you are having the brackets welded. you dont need a handbrake to start off. and the easy pull lever is $45, i would buy that since you have a gixxer. it makes it much easier. are you going full fairing? if not sell all the plastic and headlight and all that and you will have more then enough to buy your stunt parts

Well, you can't see it in the pic, but it's got the full fiberglass race plastic so there's no headlight or tailight. The guy i bought it from gave me 2 more sets of side plastic, an upper, and another tail section. The tail has the hole for the seat, but i'm thinking on leaving it single seat. He also gave me a box full of misc. parts that go along with the other motor. When he lowered it he cut the forks, but in that box is another set of forks, so i'm gonna see if those work for now.

The first thing you need to do is un-lower your bike. Unless you want to put the front tire threw your radiator when you do your first stoppie...

Yeah, i think i'm gonna start that process this weekend. I've got to take the stretched swingarm off, polish it up, and then there's a guy here in town that'll swap me out for a stock swingarm. It lifts when i leave the line hard and it feels like the tire's coming through the radiator then!

you really dont need handbrake right now unless you are good at brake control and BP.

Dude your pullin the 750 motor and puttin in a 600 motor right?Pretty sure that the 600 motor is not gonna line up with the 2 upper engine mount bolts.I had a friend that broke a 750 frame, got a 600 frame put the whole thing back together and those 2 bolt holes did not line up they were like a 1/4" off or somethin.

Yeah, i know the 1000 motor will bolt up differently. You have to drill new holes for it to bolt up. When i bought the bike, the guy gave me a 600 motor and a box of misc. parts. It's a complete motor, i just have to put it back together. I think that i'm gonna leave the 750 motor on for now till i get the other back together. The lowered and stretched look was fun for a while, but i miss pulling wheelies!!!
