exhaust help !!!

would it hurt anything to shorten the pipe instead of the muffler? i've heard of people shorting their muffler and putting it back together. i'd rather cut the pipe. and will it make it louder. heres a pic, looks like it's out there 10 feet. dam things loud already don't need it any louder. can here it like 2 miles away. thanks,

doesnt really matter. It looks like its a straight enough shot that you can cut the exhaust pipe and reweld it easily.

If you want it more quiet, pick up a stock pipe on ebay for $20, chop that down, and sell your d&d.

still have the stock pipe. it sucks ass. looks like a damned stainless steel trash can hanging on the side. the d&d is great i just didn't want to scrape it when i start trying 12's.

true that and yes it's lowered about 1 1/4 " . iv'e seen people come up on wheelies and hit the pipe and it thro's them to the left crashing .

you could shorten the pipe but getting it to look good again will be a task. What I did was drill out the rivets on the botom of the muffler removed the botom cap and cut 4 inches out of the muffler. I then re fitted the muffler with the bottom cap and re riveted the two together. It looks totaly trick when it is all said and done.

cutting the pipe wont make it any louder with a d&d. if u cut the mid pipe u will need new mounting points and nothing will line up even close. so no u dont want to do that
