Painting My F2

Hey guys, dont post over here near as much as i do over at SL but its down and im bored.

Ive been painting parts of my F2 over the past week, did the front fender first then it got nice and i went riding in feb.! But now its cold again and im back to workin on the bike. So i did my right rear fairing.

I stripped the decals. Then i roughed up the paint with 220 grit after repairing a few cracks. Next i primed the surface with 2 coats. After that dried I sanded the primer with 600 grit to rough it up a bit. Then i layed my first layer of basecoat, followed by a second layer of basecoat. I tried wetsanding and that didnt work out to good so i ended up spraying a 3rd coat on the fender.

Heres the results. I used a "car pinstripe kit" from Napa (or even Walmart has em) to tape off the tribal flames.

you gonna clear over that basecoat? im in the middle of paintin my bitch, if i learn how to use camera, maybe i'll post a few pics.

Nah im not even goin to mess with clear coats. Ive never heard good things about them in a can. It looks somewhat shiney now and im not mad.

you did that with spray cans? im trying to put a pic of my plastic up but it says that says the file is 2 big. how do you make it smaller?

open it up in paint or some picture editing program and just make it smaller.

Yeah i just spray painted that piece. Isnt perfect but good from a distance :). And looks more then good enough for a bike thats goin to get dropped alot this summer.

now that i know how to post pics this is some of my plastic. i laid 3 coats of hi build k36 ppg primer and now im about 2 paint (1966 ferrari daytona blue w/ a lot of pearl mixed in) the black plastic is not primed yet, but thats how bad some of this stuff was.

well last night i finally sprayed some of my plastic. i have yet to color sand it yet. but so far its not that bad i think. i started with a stock GM color and tweaked it a little. i put alot lrger metal flake than normal and when the sun hits it, its awsome. the side fairing isnt done yet, its a little busted up, so was the front nose piece but that came out ok. the color is a little darker than it looks in the outside pic. tell me what ya think.
