haha yeah I understand that completely!
My family wasn't too thrilled about the type of bike I wanted. I bet my dad would have bought me a Harley if that was what I wanted but it wasn't so he hated the idea of me buying anything else. They support me riding but it still scares them, even though my mom and dad both ride. My brother was killed in a motorcycle accident so its definately something that everyone is worried about but we all still ride.
And most guys I ride with think its hot...haha. I've been told its funny as hell to ride behind me and watch other peoples reactions when they see me.

Parents weren't too thrilled when they found out I bought one. Nobody in my family ever had a motorcycle except for an uncle who was nearly killed a while back....so they are under the common impression that motorcycles are just scary and unsafe.
To this day I believe that it brought us closer together because they never know if the one time they see me might be the last time.

My parents are the same way...I'm doing the research now and getting everything together to buy my first bike, and my mom has finally realized that she's just going to have to accept it....but she hates it, and I haven't even gotten a bike yet....I'm moving back home in May when I graduate from school, and I told her that I respect the fact that I'll be living with them, and if she really doesn't want me to get one while I'm living at home, then I won't.....but she doesn't want me to move out yet either (which would happen if she didn't want me to get one), so she's starting to accept it...we'll see what happens I guess

Yeah, the parents issue, that kinda a touchy subject. My mom for example, was terrified of the idea of me buying and riding a bike. When my ex Mike crashed and died on his bike 2 yrs ago, she saw what i went through, and what Mikes mom went through, and doesnt want to go through that with me. I totally understand, but i guess you gotta just let your peeps know, hey anyone can die from anything. Car crash, plane crash, etc. When its your time, then you go. Some die on bikes, i just feel like i dont wanna live my life being scared of things. I think the biggest risk in life is not taking one.
