Idle for 01 gixxer 600

I got an 01 gixxer 600 with -1, +10 and i have the idle adjustment up on the left control pod. I can put it around 4000rpm but after a wheelie or two it drops down to 3,000rpm. After it does that, I give it a rev and it pops back up to 4,000rpm again. Is something wrong or am I retarded? How to u guys setup your idle adjustment? Thanks.

i have the same bike and an idle cable off a superhawk does the same thing kind of bounces around a bit not sure why, for most stuff i just use the fast idle switch on the left clip on it puts the idle at about 3500,i use the cable for no handers and stuff where i need the idle higher

yeah my gix 600 bounced around too, rock it anywhere between 3-4 K and you're fine!

I have the same bike, and my fast idle won't go that high. How are you guys setting up the cable? )Pics would be cool.

i removed the regular idle screw and put in the cable, then ran it along the underside of the gas tank on the left side, made a small dent in the tank so it wouldn't pinch the cable and thats about it, but yeh i'll post some pics in a bit
