finally got the cages

ok i was sick and tired of getting beat around and bullshitted.. so i wanted to go pick up some cages.. fuck the delivery.. people talkin about 10-14 days maybee, backorders, and all kinds of shit.. so i went to the powers factory and had one made and picked it up today.. it was a 3 hour ride there,,,, and a 5 hour ride back....... dont even ask... the barns, cows and sheep were confusing and i got lost.. its like a million miles of barns than right smack in the middle.. power welding.. well anyway.. i got my cages and started to put em on but i have to cut out the left side of the ferring to expose the left engin mount.. so tomorrow ill be buyin a dremil.. ill post pics when i get it.. i got the new style powers cages too...new shit.. ill post a pic tomorrow..

I have a couple questions.....how does powers stay in business, and why do people keep giving them business?

I have heard nothing but bad things about them. I know that every cage company has their share of bad publicity, but with powers it seems outstanding. Ive heard alot about them breaking cases, on almost every brand of bike. Ive heard NOTHING but bad about their customer service. And everybody that posts about the install either says the install really really sucked, or that it didnt line up at all.

damn craock thats a whole day to get that shit...i finally ordered one too after i dumped on thursday...905 told me ill have it before the 21 when we leaving for myrlte beach...lets see if that happends

aight the bigest pain in the ass ever.. ok where should i start.. ok on the left side i had to cut the ferring.. not a problem. so there is a spacer that powers gives you to go in the space where the old frame slider is to make the cage and the frame sit flush.. yea....... fuckin too big.. now without this you can't put the cages on they will never line up due to the fact that they are exactly measured ,and not that exact might i add that.. so i grind this spacer down for like half hour till i get tired and decide to wak that shit into the frame wak wak wak... than.. it goes half way in. im like ok i can live with that.. no the cage wont like up cause that half inch is alot when puttin the bolts on.. so now i gotta get that shit out.. grind, grind, smack, wak, grind wak,,,,, than i whip out the dremil grind................ grind,,,,,,, wak,,,,,,hit,,,,,,, now you have to becarefull cause you can break the engin mount on the frame if you wak too hard... so then after 2 hours its out.. god damit.. so now i put this shit on and the fuckin shit is off like a 8th of an inch on the rear mount.. so i was pulling,, trying to stretch it.. hahaha. hell no ,no movement. than i took out a mallet and smacked it and smacked it until it lined up perfectly...... no.. i had to have someone come ova to push the other side so i could catch the nut on the rear mount. fuckin nightmare.............. now its on and im still mad cause im tired... fuckin shit.... wonder is the 905 is easier to put on... anyway here are some pics...

My 905 was such a bitch to get on. I fucked with it for a couple hours trying to get the rear mount to line up so I could thread the bolt into the cage. Finally grinded the shit out of the cage so I could fit it. But it works/looks great now.

Ive put a powers on my gixer (it was a bitch) and a 905, 905 was by far easier. The 905 I got for the 636 was so easy I could have done it with a 30 pack in me.

Bro that's what did it for me I almost lost my fuckin marbles trying to get it to thread into the cage :eek: :Eeek: Finally grinded the shit out of the cage with a dremel (worth every penny) and it fit.

I ordered one of those pieces of shit 2 months ago,canceled my order cause it took soo long.Bought something else.and whala the powers shows up at my house anyway 2 month later and still got billed for it. FUCK THESE PEOPLE!

the service sucks..... i drove 3 hours there and 5 hours there to make sure i got all the parts.. i got home and didnt have the righ shit still... they dont really line up right, and i havent dropped my shit yet (knock on wood) to see how it would hold up.. but the welding and bracing that they did knocks 905 out da box..... but 905 is a great cage.. but i guess powers has been getting feedback and put supports in the cage..

the FI bars look realy good, but i don´t know how they fit. At the 905 i think the plate is to big, it covers the rear light. its still a long way till i need a 12bar, i will see what the future brings! :nudge:

nothing liek an Fi cage in my opinion, yes i used their cage too.

#1 its a bitch to put on and they say they tweak when powdercoated, BS. 400 degrees doesnt do that to metal. theur shitty jigs do

#2 that rear engnie bolt is fuckin wack so fuckin wack! shits like for a fuckin bmx bike its so thin

Just a tip for installing the Powers and 905 style cages.

You guys are having problems lining them up cause you are tightening one bolt tooo much before getting others started! Get ALL the bolts in and get the threads STARTED on them, they will go in and line up fairly easy! After all are started, you can tighten each one up! It's like a case cover, you dont install one bolt and tighten it down, then put in the second bolt, you get them all started then torque them! hope that helps! I have used both Powers and 905, and if you do it that way they are about equally easy to put on... both are great cages, but the 905 bends from crashes easier than the newer powers design!
