Hey whey yous first started how long did it take for yous to get decent wheelies?

did you first just start riding as a regular rider.. or did you go righ into stuntin.

how much practice did take for you to learn to wheelie and how long..

like how long in lot practice?

just asking cause im totally new to stuntin and i
1. cant get the bike past 9 with out gettin scared and lettin off the throttle.
2. when i get em up i start to twist the fornt wheel and land fucked up sometimes..
i started riding last season and just last month started to try wheelies and stoppies....

give me any info yous got.. thanks C rock.

I had power wheelies on lock on my dirt bike in one summer.
The next year I semi balanced wheelies on my streetbike, and got some combos.
The next year I learned to 12 it
The next year I got a better bike and learned some idle tricks

i started learning fast wheelies on the highway and some stoppies and donuts then i learned to twelve and get some brake control now i can do pretty good idle tricks and decent cirles and a couple miles on the inerstate brake control was definatly key for me

how long did it take for all this progress..

how long did it take for all this progress..

popping the clutch is scarey as fuck at first... i learned by riding at night through neighborhoods cause there is stop signs and from every stop i would clutch it up, over and over and over... the more you clutch it up, the more you get the feel for it, and the quicker you will learn... i did it at night so i could see headlights if cars were coming(cops)... i would recommend just getting comfortable clutching it up around 25 then start slowing it down some... my 2cents

and dont worry about how long it took everyone else... go at your own pace, if it takes you longer than others, who cares... just practice and practice...you'll get it going bro...goodluck

I rode my bike for Three years doing only first gear sit downs and second gear stand ups trying to learn throttle control. When I finaly felt at home doing just regular wheelies I try a gas tank wheelie, then a one hander, ext. My advice start out small and work your way up. The slower a wheelie the harder to ride out. The faster a wheelie the easier to ride out.

Best word of advice I can give you... if you are just starting, learn to bring it up with the clutch. Not knowing the clutch held me back for 2 years....

I don't use the clutch that much. I have almost always used the motor for First gear wheelie. I have never clutched second. For first gear I get the rpm's up to 2 then I get on it, I get off it, and then I get on it again and ride it out. I find doing them this way I don't use up a lot of my motor and by the time I get to 6rpm's the tac has pretty much stopped moving. I

Trust me, it comes up faster, more predictable and smoother every time with the clutch

And when it comes time ot learn slow stuff, it's clutch only.

first learned endo's cause it felt safer with a trick slowing down, rather then speeding up.

Then power wheelies. I didn't even think my 6r could wheelie. lol

Then learned clutching in the same summer. 2 summers ago I had a spot that was only 50ft. long, so you had to learn how to clutch it and put it back down real fast. It really slowed me down and made me learn how to 12. Just doing that I learned how to 12 in about 3 hours.

good luck, and keep practicing.

i feel ur pain man. just keep at it. clutch it up and try to go a little higher each time untill u get over the fear and cover the rear brake. i know the first few tims i hit bp i thought i was gonna loop it and would tap the brake and bring it down. now i can clutch it up in second and hit that sweet spot and ride it out pretty dam good. guys i ride with do them dam power wheeli's all the time and they'll be like shit man i thought u was gonna loop it. haha btw im running stock gears 15-40

yea one of my things that i have to start doing it looking foward.. i would try to pop it up and be looking at the winshield.. i noticed when i look ahead down the road i dont really see the front comin up too fast ans kinda get it up more witout gettin the scared feeling..

ya man look straight ahead till u get the hang of it and keep ur arms straight so the wheel will land straight. i do mine sitting down (just starting with the standups) but i get it up so high i can't even see where i'm going lol. i just stick my head out to the side and cruze on.

learn standups first, i learned sit downs and that was a mistake, u can hang bp easier standin up, and take your time, you'r twisting the bars cuz u're pulling with your arms, your bike has a motor for a reason, use it, just clutch and let the motor bring it up... stay safe tho bro, cover brake

I'd have to agree to some of the things you said. For me it's about letting loose. I'm married so it's not about the pussy, and I don't get payed for it, so it's not about the money ( even though I'd love to do this for a living). :jerkit: I do it for the glory, :nono: to rebel agianst the man and his stupid ass laws ( :cop: ftp :cop: ). Most immportently the rush. There's nothing like a good wheelie rush. :bouncy: :rotfl:  :slaphappy :cloud9:

Try to come to the balance point as fast as possible. Come to a dead stop, then yank it up. It will get to the point faster instead of having to try to slow down from a fast wheelie. When I learned to do that. Parkin lot shit was easy from there on out. Oh yeah, set your idle at like 2500 rpm. Good luck and wear a helmet for now.

Peace

I have been riding since the middle of last summer and have just started stunting this summer. Besides the occasional power wheelie on the rode i have maybe 3 hours of actual practice where I have gone to a spot and practiced wheelies. I can ride them aout 25 feet thats all, but its at balance point.

well now that the rain has let up for a few hours i had some time to get out there and mess around. Got her to power up in first gear to bp a couple of times, it does come up a lot smoother than clutchin it up, i tried to clutch up 2nd with very minimal sucess, feels like back to square 1 again :(. Any suggestions for power up/clutch up in 2nd on these bikes? (ZX6e)I do feel the tendency to lean forward when the bike comes up... its that newbie curse i suppose
The power up feels more comfortable than clutchin it. just pulls up smoother IMO. I would like to be able to do 2nd and 3rd gear... its just a more frequented speed to ride at. hard to show off your 1st gear wheelies when u have to slow traffic down to do it, lol
